How can you disable cell phones in a 50 foot radius?
I am a school teacher and would like to simply disable all cell phones in my room rather than know that they all have them hidden away and hear the annoying rings from time to time.

There are devices that will block cell phones signals, but they are illegal in the United States. If you live in another country, you may be able to purchase them. I have heard of movie theaters in England installing them, but you cannot use one in the US.
No can do!! There are devices that will do this and some schools actually tried to do it but is a violation of Federal Law to inhibit the transmission of radio waves from a licensed device, cellphones, walkie talkies, CB radios, TV stations, radio stations, etc.
Creating an electromagnetic field but you may damage the phones, and that may be costly or you can threaten your students with sending an EMF out if you hear it, not to hard to make an EMF just need a horse shoe magnet and a battery creating a circuit with the magnet. need any help with that let me know. i hate people that have their phones on when a teacher is teaching unless the teacher is incredibly boring!
send a letter out to the parents letting them know that cell phones are not allowed in the classroom and any cell phones that are seen or heard in your classroom from now on will be confiscated, and if they want the phone back the parent or guardian has to come and pick it up, that should work but you should run it by the principle first.
