How do people get cell phones from Alltel, and then re-sell them on eBay for cheaper amounts?

If you go to eBay, you can see that there are hunderds of people that sell cell phones. I was just wondering if anybody knew how they recieved those phones so I would know how. I am wanting to go into business on eBay selling cell phones part time. If you will, please answer ASAP. Thanks to all!

most likely by buying cell phones for wholesale price through the wholeseller/manufacturer. this means buying in bulk the more of an item you buy the cheaper each unit will be. if you buy a whole lot then you can sell it sightly cheaper than a store(that has charger more to cover rent for the building, worker salary/benefits, insurance, etc…)
now selling electronics especially tvs, cell phones, ipods, cds, dvds are pretty hard for the simple fact is that so many people are doing it most people who sell on ebay thats the 1st thing they think of. this means you have more competition and the laws of supply and demand comes into play, the more supply then the cheaper you have to sell your product. the cheaper you have to sell your product the more of it in bulk you’ll have to buy to make a profit. most likely if you are starting off you dont have enough money to buy in bulk like the big boys you see on ebay and if you cant have a comptetive price against theres no1 is gonna buy your stuff.
long story short if you are thinking of selling something that many people already are selling then its gonna be difficult for you to break into that industry. not to discourage you its still possible just harder. you might wanna look for other options too
anyways whatever you decide to sell you’re gonna need to get a state tax id, maybe a doing business as license and a federal tax id to be able to buy from a wholeseller

people may have gotten the phone their selling when they purchased their plan and purchased a better phone later
