How much is it to switch cell phones during a contract with all of the fees?
I purchased a cell phone from the Verizon network in June 2008 and it really isn’t working out for me. I want to purchase a new phone and I have looked on eBay, Amazon (etc.) and I feel the prices are too high. I was wondering if it would just be less money to just purchase a phone at the actual Verizon store with the fees of switching phones in the middle of a contract.

If you purchase a new phone from verizon you will end up paying full price. If you purchase it from ebay or amazon or anywhere else make sure it is unlocked so you will be able to use your sim card.
I don’t think switching phones has a fee, changing your plan does. If you have had your phone over a year or two they sometimes have upgrades you can do for free or little. If not I think you can just tell them you want to buy a new phone and they will do it but you will need to pay activation and and the phone. Online I don’t know if you can buy from ebay because I don’t think verizon has sim cards that you can just put in the new phone, it needs to be programed.
If your contract is not up yet then your only option would be to purchase a phone at the non-contract price if you plan on staying with the same phone provider. Now if you plan on switching phone providers like going with AT&T or what have you then it will cost you to get out of your contract with Verizon. But if all you want is a new phone and you are happy with your cell phone provider then yes you will have to pay full price for your new phone but there will not be any extra fees for doing so.Hope this helps!
